Youth Ministry
For all youth in 7th - 12th gradeDon’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
Youth are NOT the FUTURE CHURCH,
as believers, they ARE the CHURCH of NOW!
About our Youth Ministry
About
The apostle Paul reminded young Timothy that he should not let anybody look down on him simply because he was young, but rather that he should allow his actions to serve as an example to all believers showing them how they should live.
At St. John’s, that same charge exists for the young adults that attend our ministry. Sure, some of the youth may go on to do incredible things for the church so the reality is that they are the “future church”, but we cannot forget that just as Paul told Timothy, they are setting the example of how a Christian should live to all they come in contact with – which makes them all members of the current church as well.
The focus of Youth Ministry at St. John’s is to help young adults in grades 7 – 12 grow in faith and friendship through discussion-based small group bible study, games, mission events, and more, so that they can be better examples of how a Christian should act.
There are two groups, split by school grade. Junior High Ministry (JHM) is for students currently in 7th and 8th grade. High School Ministry (HSM) is for students currently in 9th-12th grades.
From September through May, groups meet separately on Sunday evenings a couple of times a month. In the summer, both groups will frequently gather together in one large group for more social and service themed activities.
